Cosmos Links Banks to Swift Ledger for Round-the-Clock Cross-Border Payments
Cosmos Tokenization Suite integrates with Swift's blockchain ledger, giving banks access to 24/7 cross-border payment capabilities.
Cosmos is offering financial institutions a direct pathway into Swift's blockchain-based ledger through its Tokenization Suite, enabling round-the-clock cross-border payment processing that traditional banking rails have long struggled to provide, the company announced Tuesday in New York.
The integration targets a persistent gap in global banking infrastructure: the inability of most institutions to settle international transactions outside standard business hours. By connecting to Swift's distributed ledger, banks using the Cosmos platform can theoretically execute and settle cross-border transfers at any hour, any day of the week.

The Cosmos Tokenization Suite positions itself as a connectivity layer, abstracting the technical complexity of joining emerging tokenized payment networks. For smaller and mid-sized financial institutions without deep blockchain engineering resources, such a middleware approach could lower the barrier to participating in next-generation settlement infrastructure.
Swift's blockchain ledger represents one of the more closely watched experiments in institutional payment modernization, given the cooperative's central role connecting thousands of financial institutions across more than 200 countries. Cosmos's move to build direct integration with that network signals growing commercial demand among banks to access tokenized rails without building bespoke technical solutions.
The announcement comes as financial institutions globally face mounting pressure to modernize cross-border payment capabilities, driven by regulatory expectations and competitive threats from fintech alternatives. Continue reading at All Financial Services & Investing.
